Evaluating Opportunities in E-Entrepreneurship: The Role of Self-Perceived Creativity

E-entrepreneurship is crucial for economic development, driving innovation and new business creation. Understanding the motivations of young individuals in this domain is vital for regional and global expansion. Thus, this chapter aims to investigate the mediating effect of self-perceived creativity on the relationship between opportunity evaluation decisions and entrepreneurship. Data from 305 Omani entrepreneurs was collected and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM). The results of this chapter revealed that self-perceived creativity and opportunity evaluation decisions both have a significant direct impact on e-entrepreneurial intentions. Furthermore, the opportunity evaluation decisions and e-entrepreneurial intentions were found to be mediated by self-perceived creativity. This research underscores the crucial role of creativity in shaping entrepreneurial aspirations, where the process of evaluating opportunitiesOpportunities catalyzes enhancing e-entrepreneurial intentions. Considering these findings, policymakers are encouraged to focus on further enhancement of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. By fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between universities, research institutions, and private sector enterprises can spur innovation and enterprising spirit. In addition, promotes knowledge exchange and initiatives that bridge the gap between academia and industry. Besides, incentivizing corporate engagement in entrepreneurship by offering tax incentives, grants, or partnerships can facilitate the creation of opportunitiesOpportunities within established companies to pursue entrepreneurial ventures.
