Perspectives and Barriers to Achieve Sustainable Agriculture in the BRICS Countries

The goal of BRICSBRICS agriculture development is not only to provide a growing population with food, but also to preserve natural resourcesnatural resources for future generationsfuture generations. The BRICS countries have the potential to achieve sustainable agriculture, but socialsocial, economic, and technologicaltechnological barriers limit development opportunities. Based on the literature review and statistical data analysis, the chapter highlights the potential for the BRICS sustainable agriculture, the main barriers, and prospects for innovativeinnovative agriculture development. The public policy of the BRICS countries should take into account the best foreign practices in achieving sustainable agriculture. As recommendations, the authors propose measures to support and develop scientific and educational cooperationcooperation to disseminate the experience of introducing innovations in agriculture.
