Hemin in Plants: Biosynthesis and Role in ROS Detoxification During Oxidative Stress
摘要
Abiotic stress is now a global environmental issue and it seriously harms plants by causing chlorosis, growth retardation, and release of reactive oxygen species. Hemin has been essential for plants to protect against abiotic stress. Hemin is a heme-derived molecule, has been demonstrated to perform several adaptive physiological roles in plants’ ability to endure an assortment of abiotic stress. Hemin reduced the oxidative damage and tolerance mechanisms have been conducted to evaluate growth parameter, stress parameter as well as non-enzymatic and enzymatic parameters. In plants, hemin-elevated antioxidant levels and antioxidative enzyme activity may give resistance againstabioticstress. The purpose of this chapter is to elucidate the role of hemin in decreasing abiotic stress and elevating tolerance in plants.
