Giant Cell Arteritis (Temporal Arteritis)
摘要
Giant cell temporal arteritis, the most common of the vasculitis, is an acute and chronic, often granulomatous, inflammation of the arteries of large to small size. It affects principally the temporal arteries but also the vertebral and ophthalmic arteries. Its cause remains unknown, but autoimmunity to the elastic lamina of the artery has been proposed.
