Osteomyelitis

Osteomyelitis is usually defined as the inflammation of the bone and its marrow contents. Changes in the calcified tissue are secondary to inflammation of the soft tissue component of the bone. The term osteomyelitis is reserved for infections which spread through the bone to a larger extent. Though osteomyelitis commonly occurs as a complication of dental sepsis, it is also seen in various other situations.
