Neuroscience of Yoga for Mood and Cognitive Disorders of Aging
摘要
There is increasing interest in improving the physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual health of older adults through improved lifestyle interventions such as integrative mind-body therapies that include the practice of Yoga. Yoga practice typically involves a combination of physical postures, breathing exercises, integrated breath-movement sequences, relaxation, and concentration/meditation. This whole-systems approach serves as a promising lifestyle stress-reduction intervention contributing to the health promotion and prevention of disease for older adults, especially as they relate to mood and cognitive disorders of aging.
