Nanobiotechnology for Brain Tumor-Targeted Therapies

摘要

Brain tumor is still one of the most challenging tumors to treat in the central nervous system. There are various traditional treatments of brain tumor, including radiation therapy, surgery, and chemotherapy, but there are lots of side effects and disadvantages associated with the conventional therapies. As a result, this chapter reviews the current status, causes, diagnosis of brain tumor, role of nanobiotechnology, and clinical trials in the management of brain tumor. Nanobiotechnology is a viable method for developing an appropriate carrier system that could really help in the treatment of brain tumors by creating platforms that target selective medication release across the blood-brain barrier. Nanobiotechnology will also be useful for creating customized/personalized drug delivery system for specific patients in order to maximize the efficacy and reduce the probability of erroneous findings. The review’s main point is that brain tumor treatment needs more research and technology development based on the nanobiotech to improve brain cancer patient’s life. Future research should focus on enhancing the therapeutic potential of nanobiotechnology-based medicines and undertaking in-depth pharmacological studies to combine existing scientific knowledge into effective brain tumor treatment with minimal side effects.
