Graphene and Its Derivatives: Concise Review of Some Basic Fundamentals

Graphene has a wide variety of effective properties such as high carrier mobility, optical transparency, and exceptional electrical and thermal conductivity. Considerable interest in graphene has been motivated by its huge potential to advance several technologically important areas including materials science, biomedical science, and energy [1, 2]. Despite great promise and potential, the graphene-related field holds many challenges that hamper the rapid development of graphene-based functional devices.
