A High-Gain Multi-input Multi-output Non-isolated DC–DC Converter for Microgrid Application

This paper presents a high-gain multi-input multi-output non-isolated DC–DC converter (HGMNDC) integrating hybrid resources into a microgrid. The converter operation is analyzed in continuous conduction mode with suitable waveforms and the governing equations are derived accordingly. A model predictive control (MPC)-based incremental conductance MPPT algorithm is implemented for faster response during varying input conditions. The proposed converter is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink to provide the necessary results. The comparison between traditional MPPT techniques and MPC-based MPPT techniques has been analyzed and discussed. Finally, the paper concludes the efficiency of the proposed technique in achieving the desired output with the speed in response.
