Design and Modeling of 0.55 MWp Solar Carport

摘要

Installation of solar PV plant and converting solar energy into electrical energy is the most attractive and promising option to reduce power cost followed by production cost, reduce carbon emissions as well as fulfillment of RPO for Indian industries. To install the solar PV plant, larger areas are required due to low efficiency of PV panels. There are numerous challenges to ensure larger lands for solar PV plant but industries are having a larger amount of unused areas in terms of building roofs, industrial roof sheds, car parking areas, scrap yards, material loading and unloading areas, storage areas, etc. In this paper, a car parking area of an industry in the state of Jharkhand has been identified and detailed engineering has been done towards design of grid-connected 550 kWp solar carport under which vehicles can easily be parked and green energy can also be generated for use. This paper also describes the technical parameters of critical PV plant components, interconnection diagrams, projected energy generation from this plant, losses against different parameters and performance ratio of the plant. The design and simulation of the plant were done through PVsyst software.
