Introduction: ‘Being Present’ as an Analytical Concept

‘Being Present\“Being Present\”’ is an analytical concept that I ‘made up’ for an article published in 2008. This article, titled ‘Being Present: TV Watching Activities from the Perspective of Ethnography—Reinterpretation of Field Study Materials in Dulong County’, later became part of my doctoral thesis (Guo, Jianbin, G.
