摘要

The phrase “Internet of Things” refers to the way that different objects are hybrid connected, that is, via the use of contemporary technology and communication infrastructures to the internet and to one another. Energy consumption optimization combined with renewable energy sources plays a major role in mitigating climate change and accelerating the transition to sustainable energy sources. Modern technology, including the Internet of Things, is used by the energy industry for many supply, transmission, and demand-related applications. IoT can be used to reduce the negative effects of energy use, encourage energy conservation, and improve the utilization of renewable energy sources. This research compiles the previously released studies on the applications of the Internet of Things for energy systems in general and smart grids in particular. We also talk about IoT technologies that make it possible, like cloud computing and different data processing platforms. We also go through the issues of privacy and security that come up when IoT is used in the energy industry, as well as some possible fixes like blockchain technology. This study provides managers, energy economists, and policymakers in the energy industry with a description of the use of energy system optimization through IoT.
