Design and Fabrication of an Automated Multi-Hacksaw Cutting Machine
摘要
Cutting is a basic industrial technique used in many industries to form workpieces to the required dimensions. It is a daily process that is essential to getting the workpieces to the right size and form. The goal of this project is to streamline the process as much as possible by maximizing automation in cutting procedures. Therefore, the goal of this project is to conceptualize, construct, and build an automated hacksaw machine that can cut four workpieces at once. It makes use of a motor and four hacksaws, utilizing the Scotch yoke system. This mechanism facilitates effective cutting operations by converting the rotating action of the motor into reciprocating motion for the four hacksaws. The proposal also tackles the problem of workpiece heating and employs appropriate control mechanisms for it. The project only uses SolidWorks software to develop its designs. To sum up, its main goal is to increase the productivity of cutting operations while reducing the need for human involvement. In order to successfully accomplish these goals, it also seeks to implement a number of system improvements.
