Investigation of Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Tubular Heat Exchanger Through Experimentation with Alternate Materials

This paper uses self-synthesized nanofluids to present a detailed study of a tubular heat exchanger. Performance improvement and heat transfer intensification are the main priorities. Here, base fluids like DM water and ethylene glycol have been used to create nanofluids through the use of highly conducting nanomaterials. We have experimented with creating hybrid nanofluids and applied them in heat exchangers with tubing. Nanofluids such as Al2O3 + CuO and Fe2O3 + Al2O3 have been shown to be effective; analysis has shown that in the heat exchanger’s counterflow arrangement, the nanofluids containing ethylene glycol as the base fluid have a fairly high efficiency when compared to ordinary water and deionized water. For far better outcomes, the selection of appropriate nanoparticles could be optimized.
