Feasibility Assessment of 100 kW Solar Power Plant in a Sub-tropical Region: A Case Study of New Delhi India

The global demand for power is skyrocketing, and renewable energy sources are gaining momentum as a low-pollution solution to meet this demand. In particular, solar energy is being explored as an alternative source of power. This study focuses on the potential of New Delhi, India for solar energy utilization, using a 100-kW solar system with multiple PV panel layouts. The location was carefully selected based on its high potential for solar radiation, with a possible annual output of 5.07 kWh/m2 at a constant temperature of 25.40 degrees Celsius throughout the year. The plant design includes a 31-degree tilt and a stationary axis of rotation, which yielded a performance ratio of 72%. This resulted in the generation of 158,167,408 kWh of electricity that can be sold to the grid.
