Measuring Facial Displacements and Strains for Cosmetics Development and Beauty Care
摘要
Applications of a displacement and strain measurement method to facial skin for cosmetic development and beauty care are described. Displacement and strain are quantities that represent the movement of a point or the deformation of an object. Therefore, by measuring these quantities, deformation of the facial skin surface can be obtained, and the correlation between skin deformation and other factors, such as the skin moisture content and the amount of cosmetics, can be evaluated. Digital image correlation is used as a displacement and strain measurement technique. First, the results of strain measurements to investigate the relationship between wrinkles and strain that occur with aging are shown. Next, its application to the study of the effects of skin condition facial skin strain is described. Finally, an evaluation of the effect of facial massage by displacement measurement utilizing melanin obtained from ultraviolet light is presented. These results indicate that displacement and strain measurement can be used in cosmetics development and beauty care.
