摘要

This article give us the information of electrical resistivity method which is used to detect the contamination in soil by indirect method. The sample of soil and leachate was collected from the Turamuri village, Belagavi taluk and district in an area. Mould of diameter 7.5 cm were fabricated using PVC material. The soil was artificially spiked with different percentages of contaminants (leachate). The mixture is compacted in mould for 3 void ratio (0.7, 0.8, 0.9) and 3 moisture content (23%, 24%, 25%) and measured the electrical resistivity of soil (using Wenner method). After completion of tests, the outcome is a calibration curve of soil for different concentration of pollutant v/s different void ratio and moisture content which can referred to determine and identify the presence leachate contaminant in the soil. The main objective of this study is to use the electrical resistivity method to detect the contamination in an indirect method. This method gives faster results than that of chemical analysis, but requires a calibration chart to be prepared in the laboratory.
