Modern Developments in Dyeing and Printing Using Nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is the study of materials with lengths ranging from one to one hundred nanometres. In the process of reducing the dimensions of materials to the nanoscale, which is the foundation of nanotechnology, the properties of the materials undergo significant transformations. The widespread conviction that nanotechnology possesses immense potential for a wide range of applications is one of the primary factors contributing to the increased interest in nanotechnology on a global scale. In addition to academics and researchers, corporations have shown an interest in nanotextiles due to the immense economic potential that they possess. These innovative and distinctive characteristics have piqued the interest of corporations. Nanotechnology has seen rapid expansion in the textile industry due to the fact that it may modify the characteristics of cloth in a manner that is both distinctive and advantageous. Through the application of nanotechnology, the textile industry has a substantial commercial potential. Whilst it is a field that is still in its early stages of development, textile dyeing and printing have not paid much attention to it. This chapter primarily examines the advancements achieved by nanotechnology in the areas of printing and dyeing.
