Nanofinishing and Circular Economy

The world strives toward building a better place concerning the environmental balance with an industrial revolution. Though linear economy is considered as a dominant approach in global manufacturing since the starting of the industrial era, but today’s world is shifting to a new approach that is circular economy due to scarcity of resource. Introducing circularity into the emerging technologies like nano-finishing in textiles can create a solid base for sustaining in future as this model reduces reliance on limited resources which ultimately eliminates waste and gives long-term cost benefits. The following chapter intends to find existing approaches and scrutinize new methods that align nano-finishing with the concept of circular economy holistically. The novelty of this chapter is the compilation of nano-finishing with the concept of circular economy to give future directions for developing methods that will derive sustainable solutions for the associated problems.
