Introduction to Nanotechnology in Textile Finishing

Economically, the most beneficiary industries are textiles and fashion in which one can generate profit as per his abilities. This can be done on the basis of new emerging technology, by performing constant researches and trials, also applying the same technology on textiles with the help of various application technology. One of the emerging technologies is nanotechnology, which has been utilized for appealing on the textiles for various functional finishes like antimicrobial clothing, sportswear, anti-odor clothing, self-cleaning textiles, protective clothing, medical textiles, and smart wearable electronic textiles. Comfort, handle, and breathability has also achieved with functionality, which is hard to get by using conventional method. Therefore, this chapter deals with the application of nanotechnology in textile, especially in finishing, with the alteration seen in the physical, mechanical, bulk, and comfort properties of textiles.
