As the Mediterranean Sea was transitioning to Turkish control and routs around Africa were being developed, Europeans began looking westward for new investments. Several pivotal explorers with the courage and capability garnered funding for their ideas. Their discoveries changed how Europeans viewed the world, including places, cultures and people not known to exist and who were not mentioned in the Bible.
