摘要

With the development of the steam engine, the industrial revolution made use of important concepts of energy and power, even though these were not yet fully understood or defined. There was strong motivation to advance the efficiency of these early steam engines. Understanding the conservation of mechanical and heat energy, during their development, gained meaning and importance. During this time the field of thermodynamics evolved.
