Kinematic Gait Analysis Using Markerless System to Determine Joint Angles
摘要
Kinematic gait analysis is the process of determining the lower extremity joint angles to assess the quality of human movement. In several disciplines, including sports biomechanics, rehabilitation, and ergonomics, precise measurement and analysis of joint angles are essential. Traditional marker-based systems have drawbacks, such as difficult setup and constrained mobility. A viable substitute is markerless systems, which offer more use and flexibility. This paper proposes joint angle determination using 2D BlazePose, a superset of COCO keypoints, Blaze Palm, and Blaze Face topology that can run on resource-constrained computing devices like smartphones. Gait analysis using markers is expensive and not easy to access. Keeping this in mind, this developed system can be used in daily life by doctors to assess their patients. We examined our system using a dataset of videos with motion capture data. The mean absolute error (MAE) between our system and motion capture system (MoCap) of the above-said dataset for left and right leg hip, knee, and ankle angles are 3.6 \(^\circ \) , 7.8 \(^\circ \) , 9.1 \(^\circ \) , 3.8 \(^\circ \) , 9.6 \(^\circ \) , and 7.8 \(^\circ \) , respectively.
