Yang Kun and His Study of Ethnology and Mythology

Yang Kun (1901–1998), courtesy name Xianggan and formerly known as Yang Chimin with pen names like Zhang Haoli, and Yang Nianji, was a native of Daming, Hebei. He was an ethnologist, sociologist, and anthropologist. He enrolled at the No. 11 Middle School of Zhili at the age of 15. In 1920, he was admitted to the preparatory class for studying in France at the Zhili Agricultural College in Baoding.
