Chen Xujing and The Way Out for Chinese Culture

Chen Xujing (1903–1967), courtesy name Huaimin, was born in Wenchang, Guangdong (now Hainan). He was a sociologist of culture, a social historian, and an educator. Born to a family of overseas Chinese merchants, Chen studied at the Zhiyuan Elementary School in Wenchang, Hainan; Yuying Primary School in Singapore, and the Lingnan Middle School in Guangdong in his early years.
