Load Balancing Using Swarm Intelligence in Cloud Environment

摘要

In the contemporary era of cloud computing, the efficient management of computational resources has become an imperative task. Load balancing, as a critical technique in this realm, plays a vital role in ensuring the optimal utilization of resources while maintaining system stability and performance. Traditional load balancing approaches often face challenges in dynamically changing environments due to the complexities of modern cloud systems. To address these challenges, this paper explores the application of swarm intelligence techniques for load balancing in cloud environments. The findings of this research contribute to the advancement of load balancing strategies in cloud computing by showcasing the potential of swarm intelligence as a promising paradigm for addressing the challenges of dynamic resource allocation. Moreover, the comparison among all the techniques will also be done to find out which one should be better for load balancing. We also discuss about performance matrices that affect load balancing i.e., makespan time, throughput, waiting time, response time, and fault tolerance. There can be works that can use a combination of more than one swarm intelligence, as a hybrid approach can be a good approach for balancing load among virtual machines so these types of works will also be elaborated in the chapter. Hybrid approach can be the batter solution for any problem.
