Prospects for Mining Cooperation in the SCO Countries

Over the past 20 years since its establishment, the SCO has upheld the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, carried forward the “Shanghai Spirit,” and practiced the common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable security concept. Also, SCO has been taking into account the reasonable security concerns of all parties, jointly safeguarding regional peace and tranquility and joining hands to create a favorable environment for the development and prosperity of the countries in the region. In addition, it has been providing essential guarantees for improving the environment for geological exploration, mineral exploration, and mining investment of the countries in the region. This set of actions has provided a meaningful guarantee for the region’s geological survey, mineral exploration, and mining investment. Looking ahead, mining cooperation among the SCO countries will enter a new stage of development, become relevant support for each country’s economic and social development and industrialization process, and contribute more to enhancing the resilience of global mineral resources’ industrial and supply chains.
