摘要

An important safeguard to assure a material’s safety performance is an effective diagnosis of faults in varied materials. In this, infrared thermography is a novel non-destructive testing (NDT) modality that has advanced rapidly in recent years in comparison to conventional NDT methods. Out of various infrared thermography modalities, recently introduced digitized frequency modulated thermal wave imaging (DFMTWI) has emerged as a more prominent and effective diagnostic technique in structural health monitoring of distinct materials. This present work highlights the detection capabilities of DFMTWI modality using the advantages of pulse compression favorable data processing approaches. Further, to evaluate the suggested scheme's capabilities for the detection and characterization of subsurface anomalies, it has been implemented over mild steel samples with inclusions.
