Treatment Action Campaign (TAC) Part 1: Awakening to HIV/AIDS and the Right to Health

This chapter describes the period in which Majola turned his efforts to human rights-based activism as he began his decade-long commitment to the internationally renowned HIV/AIDS grassroots activist organization, Treatment Action Campaign (TAC). At TAC, Majola honed his skills at inspiring community members to refuse to accept intolerable conditions of deprivation as “normal.” He emerges as a powerful community organizer and inspirational activist leader.
