Electromagnetism and gravity are two of the fundamental forces, and the only two that we know of with an infinite range. These two forces not only shaped the universe but also helped us understand the universe and its components. In this chapter, we compile some of the very basic concepts that will be relevant for the rest of the book, without going through any complicated and detailed mathematics.
