摘要

Artificial intelligence is currently revolutionizing the field of medicine. This technological advancement has the ability to serve multiple purposes such as treating, diagnosing, and preventing infectious diseases that encompass the human and animal central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). However, many of these central nervous systems (CNS) associated infectious diseases currently have poor prognoses and lack a specific cure. Some of these incurable neuroinfectious diseases caused by bacterial or viral infections include meningitis, encephalitis, progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, neurosarcoidosis, and transverse myelitis. Many of these communicable diseases exhibit multiple symptoms with the potential to cause cognitive disabilities, movement disorders, psychological disturbances, or death. Currently, most of these infectious diseases utilize different treatment approaches, including immunotherapy, antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory medications. Therefore, refining the functions of artificial intelligence to an early diagnosis, minimizing symptoms and prevalence of neuroinfectious diseases is an important tool for improving overall health outcomes. In doing so, ultra-precise procedures and measurements performed by artificial intelligence can ultimately ensure a decrease in morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs through technological and financial advancement in diagnostics and preventative measures.
