Sizing Transmission and Energy Storage for Remote Large-Scale Renewable Power Plants

摘要

This chapter studies the optimal sizing of transmission and energy storage capacities for remote renewable power plants, minimizing total investment costs while considering distributionally robust renewable energy curtailment conditional value-at-risk constraints. The amount of renewable energy curtailment is given by the optimal value of an operating optimization problem. The uncertainty of renewable energy generation is modeled by a data-driven ambiguity set based on Wasserstein distance. Through piecewise-affine function expressions, the proposed sizing model is transformed into a linear programming problem. This chapter introduces the work in Xie et al. (2022).
