Various Techniques and Applications of 5G Technology: A Comparison of 5G Versus 4G/3G

In recent times, there has been a rise in the development of fifth-generation (5G) technology shown in Fig. 1, which has led to the emergence of numerous new applications and scenarios for its usage. However, number of studies have been carried out to investigate the viewpoints of users regarding mobile services using 5G technology. This paper takes a two-step comparative approach to analyze the factors that influence users’ adoption of fourth-generation (4G) and 5G services. We chose highly cited articles that discuss how users accept and adopt 4G and 5G technology services. Next, as a preliminary step, we briefly examined each article. Next, we analyzed the outcomes and discoveries of previous studies on the acceptance of 4G and 5G technologies. When assessing the 4G and 5G services it is ease for their users. However, when compared to 4G services, several recently introduced factors were taken into account as important factors for determining the intention of users to utilize 5G services. The findings pointed out several valuable observations for researchers in both practical and academic fields.
