Deep Learning and IoT for Smart Parking System: A Review

Parking management has become essential in urban areas and to manage it, numerous solutions through technologies have been introduced in the last decades. To resolve the traffic issues, a smart parking system is mandatory. With technological enhancement, new solutions are invented every day. This paper uses extensive study, comparisons, and technological analysis for the smart parking system. Moreover, it covers how technologies like Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and the Internet of Things (IoT) are utilized to resolve parking issues. In addition, the existing state-of-the-art of ML, DL, and IoT is discussed, which may assist the infant researchers in initiating their work in smart parking. In smart parking systems, IoT sensors are use to collect real-time data on space available in smart parking systems. ML algorithm can process this data to optimize parking space allocation. DL model can be used to analyze video feed to detect illegal parking or monitor parking lot occupancy, enhance security and efficiency.
