摘要

This work discusses a lightweight, low-profile, high-gain, low-cost metasurface slot antenna for S-band CubeSat communication. The suggested metasurfaced antenna is suitable for all CubeSat configurations operating at the unlicensed frequency of 2450 MHz due to the qualities attained through this technology. A 50-Ω coplanar waveguide provides the metasurfaced antenna design, which is around 9 × 9 cm2. At an ISM operating frequency of 2450 MHz, the resultant device has a minuscule reflection coefficient of about −25 dB, a gain of 7.62 dBi, and a unidirectional emission pattern. This antenna's improved performance makes it a great option for aerospace CubeSats as it greatly increases both signal transmission and reception capabilities.
