Value-Added End Products from Agriculture Residues Through Biological Route and End Products Applications
摘要
Untreated raw material discards account for as much as half of the 1300 million tonnes of waste produced by the agriculture sector each year. Because of the lignocellulosic nature of agro-waste residues, physical, chemical, and biological treatments are required to simplify them. Improving the efficiency of agro-waste pre-treatment could lead to more beneficial products for the environment and the economy. In recent years, extensive studies have been conducted about the potential uses of agro-waste residues in the chemical, agricultural, food processing, and pharmaceutical industries to create new products. As a result, the development of safe methods for valorizing agro-materials, the production of a wide variety of bioproducts via biological channels, and the creation of new molecules with biological activity is an urgent need in all areas of agriculture. With an emphasis on their uses in the food, pharmaceutical, and agricultural industries, this chapter explores possible valorization methods for transforming agro-waste into biochemicals and value-added bioproducts.
