Photovoltaic Based Fast Charging of Electric Vehicles with Fuzzy Logic Controller

摘要

Electric vehicles have undergone numerous new technological tests to improve their performance to a level suitable for daily use. The present study intends to demonstrate the development of a Fuzzy logic controller grounded on an MPPT algorithm with a Proportional Integral controller to optimize the performance of the electric vehicles (EVs) charging system and to minimize the battery charging interval. In this study, the modelling of the Fuzzy Logic Controller method was demonstrated and developed using MATLAB/Simulink Software. The study also incorporates the Grid to Vehicle (G2V) and Vehicle to Grid (V2G) charging techniques. Moreover, the optimized efficacy of this fuzzy logic controller technique was demonstrated by a comparison of the obtained result with the Proportional Integral controller for less duty cycle. Based on the obtained results, the FLC technique gives better performance including dynamic operation, less fluctuation, and better system stability.
