摘要

In the present research, solar energy-based techniques were reviewed to develop modern devices that will help humans in different areas. The present study based on a solar operated scarecrow that will scare off birds and animals from agricultural fields. The developed scarecrow prevents physical damage to crops from animals and birds. The device saves the quantity and quality of the harvest as well as the monetary gains for individual farmers. A large-scale commercial farmer saves money that they would otherwise spend on bird scarers’ labour. Furthermore, it is environmentally friendly as it uses solar energy to run the motor and sensor system as compared to the lethal technique used by some farmers, such as the treatment of fields with avicides, hence making it a more desirable technique for bird damage control.
