Comparative Analysis of Energy Metrics for Solar Energy-Powered Water Desalting Systems on Various Designs
摘要
The energy metrics of the hybrid system, N parabolic concentrator integrated evacuated tube collector double slope desalting unit (N-PC-ETC-DS), have been discussed in detail by considering the four different atmospheric conditions of Delhi, India. These atmospheric conditions were classified based on sunshine hours, daily diffuse, and global radiation. The numerical analysis has been done for eight collectors and a water flow rate of 12 g/s. The results from numerical analysis of N-PC-ETC-DS, for the same design, operating, and atmospheric conditions were compared with N-ETC-DS. The energy metrics analysis is very essential to predict the usefulness of the green energy technologies integration to the solar still to mitigate the problem of potable/distilled water. The numerical analysis considering energy concluded that the performance of N-PC-ETC-DS is better in comparison to N-ETC-DS, i.e., the energy payback period is reduced by 88.50%.
