Experimental Analysis of Liquid Immersion Cooling for EV Batteries
摘要
Lithium-ion batteries are widely used due to their high energy density and long lifespan. However, the heat generated during their operation can negatively impact performance and overall durability. To address this issue, liquid cooling systems have emerged as effective solutions for heat dissipation in lithium-ion batteries. In this study, a dedicated liquid cooling system was designed and developed for a specific set of 2200 mAh, 3.7V lithium-ion batteries. The system incorporates a pump to circulate a specialized coolant, efficiently dissipating heat through a well-designed radiator. The primary goal of the system is to maintain the battery temperature below 60 ℃ even under heavy loads. Extensive testing was conducted to evaluate the system's performance under various conditions, demonstrating its ability to effectively reduce battery temperatures and ensure stable operation. The implementation of liquid cooling technology offers significant potential for enhancing battery reliability and lifespan by effectively managing heat dissipation. By mitigating the risk of thermal-related issues, the cooling system plays a vital role in maintaining optimal battery performance and ensuring safe and reliable operation across diverse applications.
