S-LOCK Stem 2003 (Kyocera)

摘要

The cementless long stem, which has interlocking screws at the distal and proximal portions of the stem, is a useful implant for revision surgery in cases of severe bone loss and periprosthetic femoral fractures [1–3]. It enables free placement in the long axis and rotation direction and easy leg-length compensation with the healthy side. It has been reported that the distal transverse fixation screw increases torsional stability by 320% and axial stability by 230% [4]. However, there are concerns that stress shielding may occur and that the risk of screw fracture may increase in the long term because of the distal fixation of the stem [1, 2, 6].
