Keys to Improving Patient Satisfaction
摘要
THA is an effective treatment for advanced and end-stage hip arthroplasty that can improve hip function and quality of life (QOL) and is also considered an economically effective medical treatment [1, 2]. In recent years, improvements in the materials used for sliding surfaces of implants and advances in surgical techniques have led to excellent long-term results, and THA has been increasingly indicated for use in younger patients. In addition, the elderly are becoming increasingly aware of the need to extend their healthy life expectancy and their desire to participate in social activities, such as work and hobbies. Even after THA surgery, there has been a demand for increased physical activity, including recreational and sports activities among patients, with the expectation that this will improve QOL and mental health. To improve patient satisfaction after THA surgery, it is important for physicians to understand the pathophysiology of hip arthroplasty before surgery, as well as the expectations and wishes of patients and how to meet these by providing appropriate treatment.
