摘要

In Japan, the Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) hip function assessment criteria (JOA score) are most commonly used to evaluate hip function before and after total hip arthroplasty (THA). Although these criteria are widely used by medical professionals or researchers, in recent years, patient-oriented assessment methods in which the patients themselves fill questionnaires have become more important. The Oxford hip score (OHS), hip disability and osteoarthritis outcome score (HOOS), and generalized quality of life (QOL) scores, such as the short-form 36-item health survey (SF-36) and EuroQol 5 dimensions (EQ. 5-D), have been used in both clinical practice and research. The details of the JOA score, OHS, HOOS, EQ. 5-D, and JHEQ have been described in separate sections (Chap. 12 , Sects. 2 and 3 ), Therefore, this section describes other methods of functional evaluation and patient satisfaction evaluation before and after THA. Functional evaluation methods can be classified into those that use questionnaires and those that measure motor function and activity levels. The following is a brief description of each method.
