Clinical Path

Clinical pathways were first introduced to medical care in the 1980s as a care map based on the production process management system used in factories in the United States [1]. It is a medical treatment method that aims to improve the quality of patient care and the efficiency of hospital stay adjustment by standardizing and increasing the efficiency of medical treatment mainly through process management and was introduced in the United States in 1983 with the DRG/PPS (diagnosis related groups/prospective payment system). It has been utilized as a method for management improvement and has spread worldwide [1, 2].
