摘要

A novel compact microstrip antenna is proposed for multiband applications. The patch of the proposed design includes an inverted E-shaped slot engraved on it, and two different sizes of the microstrip feed line are used for feeding. FR4 epoxy is used as a substrate material whose relative permittivity and dielectric loss tangent are 4.4 and 0.02, respectively. Experimental and numerical investigations are done on the current design. The proposed antenna generates eight bands, with the resonant frequency of 2.8, 4.9, 5.8, 8.3, 9.4, 10.6, 12.7 and 13.4 GHz. The return loss (S11) for all eight bands is below −10 dB with better VSWR, gain, directivity, and bandwidth. The return losses of the proposed antenna are −21.61 dB, −34.61 dB, −12.94 dB, −20.78 dB, −11.85 dB, −43.86 dB, −15.5 dB, and −24.53 dB with the VSWR of 1.18, 1.04, 1.58, 1.2, 1.69, 1.02, 1.4, and 1.13, respectively. The operating frequencies are located in S, C, X, and Ku bands so that the designed antenna is capable of multiband applications with greater performance. This study describes the design for a multiband microstrip patch antenna and its result. CST Studio Suite software is used to design and simulate the proposed antenna.
