Security of the IoT Ecosystem: Current and Future Directions

The Internet of Things, known as the “IoT,” is the most crucial development of the previous decade in technology. IoT devices often deal with enormous amounts of data and hence become targets of cyberattacks. Despite substantial efforts to equip these devices with tools and methods related to their security, the diverse hardware and software hinder these solutions' viability. In this study, we review studies involving cyberattack detection in the IoT ecosystem to understand better the approaches involved in this issue and point toward some novel research directions.
