Numerical Feature Preprocessing Method for Daily Solar Radiation Pattern Classification

One challenging issue in daily solar radiation classification involves addressing the geometric differences in daily solar radiation patterns caused by geographic location and seasonal influences. A standardization method based on matrix transformation has been proposed to eliminate the daily geometric variations of solar radiation using classification for daily patterns of solar radiation. This method was tested using measurements taken at the Tokyo monitoring station from 2000 to 2021. Through the implementation of the proposed classification algorithm, this paper discerned twelve categories of daily clearness index distributions. The suggested classification framework has the potential to assist in the development of solar radiation transformation systems.
