摘要

New opportunities for homebound therapy with the combination of wearable and wireless systems and machine learning are addressed with respect to homebound therapy. Both conformal wearables and smartphones consisting of inertial sensor systems are featured in consideration of hemiplegic ankle rehabilitation. These capabilities enable both the optimization of a preliminary therapy prescription and determination of longitudinal efficacy of an assigned rehabilitation program. For example, key aspects of the therapy prescription can be distinguished, such as ankle stretch time prior to the ankle rehabilitation repetitions and knee orientation during the repetitions of the ankle rehabilitation regimen. The efficacy of the therapy regimen can be periodically and longitudinally evaluated, such as over the course of 30 days or one year. This strategy offers the opportunity for highly subject-specific rehabilitation, which can provide optimal efficacy and efficiency of the rehabilitation process.
