Welcome to the world of category! A new garden of abstraction. The path to this garden is developed by many talents. People first abstracted numbers and shapes from the concrete things and then, as the second step, removed the meanings of numbers, shapes, and arithmetic operations, abstracting them to algebraic structures (e.g., group) and relations (e.g., homomorphism); category theory is another step of abstraction.
