Shared Sensation and Connectedness: An Overview of Fenggu Aesthetic Genre

摘要

Unlike “qi” and “dao” under the category of ontology, “fenggu” in the realm of ideology does not possess an inherent inclusiveness. In calligraphy and painting criticisms, it generally refers to a characteristic and demeanor of works that are robust, vigorous, and filled with genuine strength. Works with fenggu exhibit a distinctive character, manifested through the straightforward and forceful strokes of the brush. However, it is not confined to this alone. The presence and sustenance of fenggu are closely tied to the creator’s vibrant spirit and abundant vitality.
